Over 90% of transmission failure arises from overheating which contaminates the oil. As with the engine, the transmissions worst enemy is heat. It degrades clutch discs as well as planetary gears. Once this process has started, vital parts of your transmission build up a residue called varnish. That is the beginning of the end.
With an engine, all of its oil can be emptied. With a transmission, when you remove the pan, only a tiny amount of oil is removed. The converter and valve body, as well as the transmission’s cooling system still contain contaminated oil.
Therefore, over 75% of the old oil is still inside the gear box. This leftover oil will immediately affect the small amount of new oil you will add to the pan.
At J.C. Transmission, we can correct the problem. We have a machine designed especially for removing all old, contaminated or deteriorating oil. The process works as follows. The machine, under pressure, forces new oil into the entire gear box, flushing out the old which is collected and eliminated in compliance with environmental standards.
This method allows us to change up to 98% of the oil contained in the transmission. We also change the filter and add a conditioner to recondition the transmission’s lip, glad and o-ring seals.
If your transmission shows any signs of contaminated oil such as, slipping or speed changes that are either abrupt or take too long to execute, don’t wait to give us a call. Our preventive maintenance can help you avoid spending many hundreds of dollars on major repairs.
Make an appointment. Our specialized technicians will know how to answer your questions and advise you on what corrective measures your transmission needs.
